There was a design intended for the entire creation to benefit from. Generations and generations of human beings, fully equipped to be nourished, fed and healthy. The earth, old and used she might become, but strong and bountiful, she was fabricated to be sustained. The animals, from the vultures roaming the sky to the meager ants beneath our feet, every creature , sky to sea, preserved for a generative purpose beneficial to the essence of life.
This rugged earth, she's trying to keep up. The design, created for her protection, it has far been forgotten. She wants to give all the children of the earth her treasures of rich food and pure water, but their rebellious behaviors have stripped her of life-giving nutrients and contaminated her wealth. What was meant for the well-being of the entire creation, somehow has become interpreted as a personal means to take and to gain all the riches of earth, man and land, with a greedy, consumption demand. Entitlement is the ruin of the pure rhythms of a harmonious earth. Her reserves, they were meant to be preserved, because Mother Earth heard that there were more to come, there were more to feed, there would be much more need. I have read the words, "Every bird of the sky, every creature that crawls on the ground, and all the fish of the sea. They are placed under your authority." But I have heard it said, that if this is true, then who cares what we do to this earth, it was all meant for man, right? To cherish, I say, it was meant to be cherished, to be valued for it's worth, to be respected of it's maternal need to feed all of it's inhabitants. It was never meant for our destructive, ravenous indulgence. There was a design intended for the entire creation to benefit from. It is far more pure, more rational, more humane. It was wise beyond it's time. Our design, it has failed, and we are sick, fighting to make it work. The earth it screaming, "Yield!" Yield to the painter finishing his stroke, yield the craftsman mastering His art, yield to the Creator cultivating His creation. It is time. Creatures of the Earth: Genesis 9: 2-3
